Until recently I believed the gearbox was the Powershift dual dry clutch 6DCT250, or possibly the wet clutch 6DCT450, but after speaking to an independent dual clutch auto box specialist to arrange a service, they told me their data base recorded my car as having a 'proper' 6F15 automatic which they didn't work on. The mechanic was surprised The 2009 Ford Escape has 27 problems reported for transmission failure. Average repair cost is $2,750 at 26,200 miles. (Page 1 of 2)

Those include low transmission-fluid level, low fluid-pressure caused by a worn pump or accumulators, a damaged torque converter or worn out bands and clutches inside the gearbox. The low fluid level is easy to check and address, but anything else probably points to either a new gearbox of a rebuild of the current one.

After this episode though, the gear change was so much slicker and when I moved the car into the garage to flush the clutch fluid it went straight into reverse. My theory on this is that it is clutch drag causing the problem and perhaps a very tiny amount of rust or damp on the pressure plate overnight causes enough drag to make low gear
P0700 is a common code if it’s an electrical issue related to the transmission. If something has gone wrong in the transmission, your Mondeo may not be able to accelerate anymore, or it’ll. If it can no longer shift, it could be caused by a solenoid/valve body that has gone bad, clutch packs, debris, and much more.
Very stiff gear shift when cold. I just bought a second hand Mondeo MK3 2004 2.0L Petrol Manual transmission with 78.000km driven. I've noticed that shifting gear is sometimes extremely stiff when I start it up in the morning. This morning I had to really put force to put the car in reverse. After a few shifts it gets much better to the point

When test-driving a Mondeo, check the automatic transmission thoroughly as there have been a few issues that can result in an expensive repair bill. The transmission is scheduled for servicing every 60,000km, and neglecting this can lead to serious problems. As with many European cars, brake disc rotors are prone to wear and may need replacing
6. Bad Transmission Fluid. Like your automatic transmission, the torque converter is full of transmission fluid. This fluid helps cool the converter and transfers energy. If your Mondeo has bad transmission fluid, it can cause the torque converter to go bad. Taking a look at the transmission fluid should be the first thing that you do.

The process is as follows. - The gearbox oil temp needs to be between 40 and 70C, so the car needs to be warmed up. - You'll need an extended ForScan licence. - Connect your laptop to the car, open ForScan, go to the Service Procedures tab, and run the TCM - Clutch Adaptive Learning procedure.

There was a change in 2007 from a four-speed auto to a six-sped auto. The four-speed had a dipstick, check your owner's manual for the location, but the six-speed didn't. You need to take that to a dealer or an auto transmission specialist to have it done. Ford Mondeo 2007: Rear brakes worn-out.
Car is 2001 x-reg Mk3 2.0 Petrol Auto Zetec Mondeo with 69k. Only problem I know of is ticking tumble flaps (removing them next week). I have noticed another issue twice now : 99% of the time the car behaves as it should. Very occasionally (it's happened twice) I seem to lose power. I will be tootling along at, say, 30 and need to accelerate.

The car has only 76500 Km on the meter. At 60000 Km the previous owner changed the oil in the gearbox. My local dealer said that they never have had a Mondeo with problems in the Powershift gearbox, but he mentioned that maybe it had to be replaced. They will know better when they take it in for service.
To diagnose bad fuel injectors in your Ford Mondeo, start by performing a fuel pressure test. This test helps you determine if the issue is related to fuel injectors, a fuel pump, or a fuel filter. Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the rail and check the pressure. If the pressure is within the specified range, you can rule out the fuel pump and
find a mondeo of same year and specification. get the ecu tag (you can do this by research on ebay pictures) then load the asbuilt file from that ecu to your car. this should sort all your problems. then you will need to do a key learn/ pats initialisation. If you have read a post by anyone on this forum and it helped.
I have a 2013 Focus auto and about 6 weeks ago I had a similar problem. It was shuddering so much that I had a "Transmission Malfunction" warning message. A mechanic put it down to me not pressing down hard enough on the pedal and after discovering that I'd filled up with Tesco petrol, he wasn't surprised it was showing the message as I usually Obviously, the solenoid that acts as a “switch” to engage the gears must not be working effectively, second option, a speed or engine speed sensor may be faulty and send the wrong information to your gearbox. If you feel drops coming from the automatic gearbox of your Ford Mondeo: If you feel a clutch when you go up or when you slow down 4,898. First thing to do is get the gearchange cables checked and adjusted. Gearboxes on these are usually extremely durable, cable problems can lead to jumping out of gear occasionally. It is more likely to be a clutch or hydraulic problem than something physically wrong with the box. 19 Mar 2009 at 20:12. #3. Ford Mondeo - Ford Mondeo 2.0 petrol Ecoboost reliability? - Matt@ This one has caught my eye. Seems quite quick and a bit frugal on fuel and also I can only see them in auto form ( ideally I want an auto) So is the Mondeo 2.0 petrol Ecobbost engine any good? Also how good is the auto gearbox? .
