Hi Can someone please help me!! I have a Focus Titanium 1.6 Ti-VCT 2006 and need some advice on how to remove and replace the battery. Some stupid design flaw on this model places the battery underneath the top front air grill, and the Air Filter housing next to it.

A few EGR faults are related to turbo or injectors, depending on the age of the TDCI and the engine size. Lynx platform EGR faults (Focus pre:2005ish) tended to be; If it's vac driven it may be a hose issue or a nozzle weld failure on the actuator (rare if I'm honest), or it could be that the spring in the actuator has misaligned (again, rare).
These diesel engines should work with batteries of dimensions 276x175x175 mm or 278x175x175 mm, which capacity is minimum 71 Ah. The most basic battery of this set is Exide Excell EB712 of a capacity 71Ah and 670A Cold Cranking Amps, the battery with the biggest capacity is Varta Silver Dynamic E38 of a capacity 74 Ah, having 750A Cold Cranking Amps.
Posted October 29, 2022. My 1.8 59plate has 21mm nuts so am guessing 21mm cone, as surly if it was 18 cone would have smaller nut. The replacement I bought has 22mm nut but says 21mm cone. Going to be fitted soon as they is a decent break in the weather. But everything I read up on suggests the 1.8 has 21mm cone.

Can't find the code that you supplied on their website, but, putting in 2007 1.8 petrol hatchback, it shows the correct battery code as SMF075. I would check the battery measurements of Length 242mm Width 175mm Height 175mm with your battery, and, if the same, you need an 075 battery.
