Thanks to FgSanchez and Dkal for help. Just found out from the dealer last week that the part # I have for the DVD (5L3J 10E947 BA3BJA) is only good for F-150's manuafactured betweeen 8/23/04 to 11/28/04. Since my '04 was made earlier, I need the part # 4L3Z 10E947AAA which is good for those F-150's made between 12/1/03 and 8/22/04.
Note You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You do not have to remove that entry. Click UpperFilters only. If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you still might have to remove the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 7.
Sometimes you do have a player supporting for DVD, but you still cannot play DVD on Windows 10. In this case, something may go wrong with your CD/DVD drive. a) First, you should check your device status in Device Manager. To open Device Manager, press Win + X keys and click Device Manager. b) On the window of Device Manager, click DVD/CD-ROM
Start with the fuse first then test the power at the DVD first, then work your way round until you find a break in the wiring. Check you have power from the quadlock connector on the rear of the radio, Plug C520, pin 2 (0.35 OG/GN). That goes to the same 3 pin plug behind the radio that the DVD player uses.
2006 Expedition XLT no sunroof - no factory installed overhead dvd player/entertainment system. I wish to install a Ford OEM player w/headphones I was given (supposed to fit 2003 to 2006). The player … read more
Location. Pontotoc,MS. I have a question for the group. I have a 2012 Expy that I was installing new DVD players in. The original players were worn out and so on. Anyhow, as I was hooking up the wiring I accidentally put two wrong ends close to one another and they arc’d. Since then, the whole system is dead. Place a different disc in the player and attempt to play. Use a brand new disc if possible. The player will not read a damaged disc and if the original is scratched and has been exposed to the elements, it may be the disc and not the player. In this case, the disc will simply not play and requires replacement. Video of the Day. I have upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows XP long time ago, but just now my Windows DVD Player stopped working. I bought a new DVD Player from Windows app store and uninstalled the old one, but it is still not working. It starts reading the DVD and shuts off in a few seconds. I uninstalled DVD Drive and restarted computer (twice) - didn't help. The other day the CD in the factory supplied Bose unit stopped working with the message "disc not read". Everything else works including rear camera, radio, GPS' etc in the module. I don't think the DVD works either for the back seat video, but I have never used it. But I'm sure it also can not read the disc.

Hi there . First of all ,, this sounds like its a stock dvd player and your ford dealer should be able to work on this ,, I work at a dealer and we work on them ,, we do not actually repaire the units , but we remove them and replace them with new units ,,, to get a new unit it takes 24 hours from a comp out of CA. .. 1) Removing the DVD lens cleaner from the packet. 2) Then loosen the cap from the liquid bottle and dispense 3 to 4 drops onto the small brush at the disc bottom. 3) Insert it into the car stereo disc slot with the brush side facing downwards on the disc. Ensure it gets sucked into the drive. dtd07. 36 posts · Joined 2009. #2 · Apr 24, 2009. First to see if the headphone are working take your camera or video camera and focus it at the DVD IR unit. If you see the IR on/flashing then the DVD is transfering a signal. If not then the DVD is not sending anything out. I also read on previous threads that the unit on Ford is a loop system. Mine is aftermarket and im sure it differs from yours but try (with a helper) disconnecting its power supply then while pressing the eject button re-connect the power. If that doesnt work look for a "pin hole" near the DVD drive access door. Unfold a paperclip and insert into the hole GENTLY.
IF this is your problem it should be obvious on close inspection of the slot with a bright light, especially while trying to eject . if you see the disk barely start out of the player behind the trim, then get pulled-back or just 'hang in place', the problem may be it dragging on the mis-aligned trim slot.

Step 1. Look on the Infotainment panel for a "CD Screen" button if the DVD controls won't show. The Infotainment system is the large, display-type panel in the center of the dashboard and is shared with the navigation system and other controls --- the DVD player being one of them. Pressing the button will display DVD controls, which will allow
